Short delivery times, low stocks and a high on-time delivery performance
Job lot and small batch manufacturers have to offer increasingly shorter lead times with the MRP methods of conventional PPS/ERP systems in the face of global market requirements, complex production structures, a growing diversity of parts and multi-dimensional planning tasks.
But: despite extensive work in production control, the necessary transparency and manpower is in the end missing to permanently and optimally coordinate the individual production areas: Prolonged deadline meetings, long missing parts lists, high stocks of finished but as yet unwanted parts document the squandering of valuable production resources. Delivery problems, expensive extra work, additional shifts and numerous emergency measures are the visible consequences in the companies.
FELIOS – an add-on software? How come?
FELIOS optimises production in a control cycle. The existing mode of operation with the PPS/ERP system and preset processes is fully retained. This includes not only the procedures for master and transaction data but also the use of the established confirmation system, e.g. the BDE used. Thus, no additional data entry or extra work is needed. FELIOS cleverly closes the gap in planning. FELIOS ensures that all relevant information that would otherwise have an unwanted effect on the planning is taken into account: backlog is automatically detected and re-planned. The supplier delays are synchronised with the existing planning so that there are neither any missing parts at the start of assembly nor do customer order dates suffer.
FELIOS has innovative and practical planning strategies that can be customised to the specific corporate structure. An optimum use of the limited labour, machine and material resources is achieved, idle power avoided and costs cut at the same time.
