From order entry through transshipment down to the settlement of accounts

SyncroTESS satisfies all the requirements of a trimodal terminal, from order entry, transshipment at the terminal through to the settlement of accounts with the customer. The software can be customised to individual requirements thanks to its modular design. SyncroTESS hereby organises the main processes for efficient intermodal handling.

Warehouse and transport management

SyncroTESS provides a graphic view of the terminal that shows individual storage positions. The MRP controller can check the status and location of every transport unit on the basis of different coloured displays. He or she can also track the settlement of transport orders in every area and the relevant utilisation of the resources. Intelligent stacking strategies in the warehouse area as well as a stock management of all units guarantee transparent operational processes and a maximum utilisation of warehouse capacities.

Optimisation of the transport processes on land and water

Apart from an effective handling of empty containers, SyncroTESS also organises the allocation of storage spaces and generates transport orders. The system hereby takes into account the current collection time of a unit, the type of the further mode of transport, utilisation situation of the resources and terminal areas as well as special features of the transport units in realtime (weight, dangerous goods, cooling container, etc.). In this way, SyncroTESS reduces the probability of restacking, ensures an optimum utilisation of resources by detecting bottlenecks and ensures a timely retrieval of the transport units for delivery.
All actions of the handling units in the terminal are reported back to the system in realtime by using the data radio components integrated in SyncroTESS.

Gate handling and truck scheduling

SyncroTESS handles all arriving and departing trucks at the gate. It detects both the company's own and external trucks. The system optimises the scheduling of the trucks and the route planning for its own planned trucks. It hereby takes into account not only driver data according to ISPS but also all additional information such as possible damage to a transport unit. Routes can be minimised and waiting times in the terminal shortened through the use of the gate and truck components.

Rail scheduling (active train loading planning)

The graphic display of the complete track assignment situation allows the MRP controller to keep an eye on the status of all current train loading operations. The possibility of forecasting future track assignment situations with SyncroTESS and preparing optimised train loading plans taking into account all restrictions on the part of the railways permits a smooth planning and settlement of rail transshipments.

Settlement of accounts

SyncroTESS manages both customer master data as well as price lists and has extensive reporting functions. Using the data gathered from these, the system prepares invoices for all completed terminal services, thus reducing the administrative work.

Order entry

The order entry function in SyncroTESS allows transshipment orders for a terminal to be entered quickly and promptly so that you can start planning a transshipment service in due time. Interfaces to internal and external settlement and order systems mean that SyncroTESS receives all important information (type of load, start and destination, time line) on a planned transport. The system generates routes and records the relevant postings from this. This means that terminals can achieve a high transparency along the entire transport chain.
