INFORM has been chosen to be part of the German delegation for the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC) US-German export initiative in Houston, Texas (US) from April 3-7.
After applying to participate, INFORM was notified in February that it had been selected as a delegate in GACC’s April program which will focus on making German expertise in energy efficiency available to the American port industry.
INFORM's Dr. Ingo Marko, Senior Consultant Logistics Division, will present how terminal optimization improves energy efficiency in terminal operations.
Dr. Eva Savelsberg, Senior Vice President Logistics Division at INFORM commented, "We are honored to be participating in the GACC export initiative in Houston.
"Using Agile Optimization Software, terminals are able to improve terminal efficiency which in turn improves energy efficiency. This has immediate flow-on effects for both environmental sustainability and the reduction of operating costs.
"We have seen real growth in the North American market with both GCT and TraPac selecting INFORM’s German expertise for optimization at their terminals.”
The German American Chamber of Commerce is comprised of several regional branches. The program is sponsored by the GACC South which is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with a branch office in Houston, Texas.
Founded in 1978, GACC South works with 11 Southern US states as well as 2 US Territories and serves as the official representative of German industry and trade in the Southern United States. It is one of the largest bi-national chambers in the US.
