Human-like language of artificial intelligence
Modern language models, often referred to as large language models (LLMs), are AI systems that specialize in natural language processing (NLP). They are trained on huge amounts of text data to learn patterns and meanings. By simulating human-like word processing, they can perform complex tasks such as text summarization, translation, and even creative writing processes. A distinctive feature of LLMs is their ability to understand the context around large-scale discussions and respond to queries in a way that provides relevant, coherent, and useful answers.
In a business context, language models can often be used to work more efficiently by automating routine tasks such as helping employees gather information. They can also extract valuable insights from data, leading to better-informed decisions. The flexibility and scalability of LLMs allow them to be tailored to address specific business challenges. Initial prototypes and applications are currently being developed and tested at INFORM. The fact that highly specialized software may be able to be controlled and parameterized by voice prompt in the near future is no longer a utopian dream.
