From Legacy to Leading Edge – flydubai's Digital Leap
flydubai uses INFORM's GroundStar software suite to make its daily operations even more efficient. The airline's rapid growth required a fast, digital solution to speed up planning, rescheduling, and reallocation of tasks before and on the day of operation. It has taken a major step to further improve the quality of its performance and customer service.
From its home in Dubai, flydubai has created a network of more than 135 destinations served by a fleet of 95 aircraft. Since commencing operations in June 2009, flydubai has been committed to removing barriers to travel, creating free flows of trade and tourism and enhancing connectivity between different cultures across its ever-expanding network.
flydubai has marked its journey with a number of milestones, including creating a network of more than 135 destinations in 57 countries across Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and South-East Europe, the GCC and the Middle East, South Asia and South-East Asia.

The ChallEnge
Rapid growth brings its own challenges. The once sufficient paper-based task allocation for engineers and technicians reached its limits and became a bottleneck. Delays mounted, engineer response times faltered, and workloads became substantially unbalanced. This wasn't just an inconvenience; it was a threat to operational performance and the very foundation of flydubai's commitment to seamless travel. The cost of inefficiency was escalating, demanding a bold, future-proof digital solution.

After one year from the implementation, GroundStar even exceeded our expectations. The task allocation process, which used to take
3-4 hours, now takes just 30 seconds with the click of a button.
the solution
flydubai needed a partner with whom it could realize its vision. This partner needed to offer a targeted software solution that would solve all current challenges while being adaptable and scalable for future situations. They found it in INFORM, a global leader in AI-driven optimization with a proven track record across 1,000+ clients all over the world. This wasn't just about replacing paper with digital; it was about utilizing intelligence into every aspect of ground operations.
flydubai evaluated many software systems but chose INFORM’s GroundStar (GS) because it can support all phases of ground handling processes: planning, scheduling, allocation, and post-operational allocation analysis.
